Welcome to the Dark Swords Guide

Dark Swords is a free text-based Massively-Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG). The game allows players from all over the world to meet and play together in a virtual world full of unique inhabitants.

Installation Instructions

If you have downloaded and installed the game client, and you got a message asking you to download an updated client, this is what you need to do:

1. Go to the files page:
• http://darkswords.eu/files/client/
2. Download the file labeled "Binary-only"
• A direct link is here.
3. Unzip or open the file. There will be a new darkswords.exe inside the zip file.
• Free zip extractors include:
1. 7-zip
2. jZip
3. WinZip
• I have not tested any of the above extractors.
4. Replace the darkswords.exe in your client folder with the new darksword.exe and it should work fine.
• You don't need to re-install the entire client, only the darkswords.exe file.
• If you replace only the darkswords.exe file, you should not need to re-enter your personal information such as your character's names & passwords, hotkeys, and friends/enemies lists.
